Punkchart films is a production company established in 2009 by scriptwriter and script editor Marek Leščák, who co-wrote films such as The Garden by Martin Šulík and Blind Loves by Juraj Lehotský (the latter receiving the C.I.C.A.E Award at the Directors’ Fortnight section in 2008 at Cannes IFF), editor Maroš Šlapeta, who was involved with several successful feature films and commercials (My zdes, The Border, Made in Ash, Visible World, Fine, ThanksThe Great Thaw) and director Ivan Ostrochovský, who recectly premiered his debut documentary Velvet Terrorists at the Berlinale’s Forum, co-directed by Pavol Pekarčík and Peter Kerekes, bringing back home the Tagesspiegel Readers’ Award.

In the short time of its existence, Punkchart films already produced a television series entitled From Town to Town and Celluoid Country.

Punkchart films is one of the producers of the opening film of the East of the West section at the 47th Karlovy Vary IFF and the Slovak National Nominee for the Oscars 2012 – Made in Ash (2012) by Iveta Grófová and the co-producer of the feature documentary by Marek Šulík and Jana Bučka Bells of Happiness (2012).

At the moment, the company is developing and is in the production process of several feature documentaries, fiction films, as well as television series.
